Travis Hunter Sr. will be in attendance at his son’s wedding. Last year, Hunter said he was set to marry his longtime girlfriend Leanna Lenee immediately after getting drafted despite criticism from fans.
“I just let people talk,” he said. “Me, I’m a big troller, so I just troll the internet. I really don’t care what they think or what they say about us so, I just go on there and troll. They talk about her, I post her to make them even more mad than they already are so they try to find something to hate, try to find something to break up on our relationship but ain’t nothing there, ain’t nothing you can find cause I love my woman.”
Hunter would later reveal that the wedding would take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee, during the NFL rookie minicamp.
“May 24th, next year, bro,” Hunter revealed. “Right, around the rookie minicamp in Chattanooga, Tennessee. “It’s a good venue, bro. [Leanna] wanted to have a good venue for everybody.”
Hunter’s father, currently serving one year in community control supervision in Florida after pleading guilty to drug possession and illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Earlier this week, Hunter Sr’s lawyers attempted to convince a Florida judge to give him a lighter sentence so that he could work for his son.
“If someone was to win the lottery and someone was to get a new job, if someone was to move to a different neighborhood, all those situational changes aren’t asking for favoritism whatsoever,” Cohen said. “What I’m saying is his situation has changed in that his son is able to employ him. His son is able to give him stable housing and a stable environment.
“Those things are not asking for special treatment, judge. Those are simply issues that arose that changed the situation of an individual.”
The judge denied Hunter Sr.’s request for a lighter sentence but eventually agreed to allow him to travel to Tennessee to attend his son’s wedding.
