Travis Kelce delivered a speech to the Kansas City Chiefs prior the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Saturday and was overcome with emotion. A number of people inside the organization reportedly believe Sunday could be his last game.
The future Hall of Fame tight end recently expressed his desire to keep playing beyond 2025 but not everybody is so sure that he won’t soon retire from football in the coming weeks.
Kelce addressed his teammates on the night before the NFL Championship for the second year in a row and was, once again, moved to tears. He could not help but cry. It means that much to him.
In addition to the gravity of a potential three-peat, Travis Kelce might know that Sunday will be it. The Super Bowl might be the final time that he ever laces up his cleats.
Will Travis Kelce retire?
According to NFL insider James Palmer, people inside the Kansas City Chiefs organization think his career will come to an end in the Big Easy this weekend. They expect him to hang it up during the upcoming offseason.
I’m told just like last year Travis Kelce was moved to tears during his speech to the team last night at the team hotel. He’s an emotional person, and some in the organization don’t want to admit it, but they do believe this could be his final game. 🤷♂️ He hasn’t said anything one way or another so we’ll see.

Kelce has mentioned on The New Heights Podcast that retirement is something that could happen as soon as this offseason. He has a number of non-football ventures in progress or in the works but his focus right now is on the task at hand— beating the Eagles.
Travis Kelce was asked about the future of his football career at Super Bowl media night earlier this week. The 35-year-old said that he would like to keep playing for at least three more years.

Maybe that is his goal. Maybe that was his way of deflecting a question he did not want to answer.
Either way, only Travis Kelce knows when Travis Kelce will retire. And maybe Taylor Swift, but that is neither here nor there. The point here is that Sunday could be the last time that he takes the field. Enjoy it while you can!
