Travis Kelce wore the exact same outfit on Sunday as he did on Saturday. Hopefully he changed his underwear!
Now, I’ll be honest here. I have no idea if this is a common occurrence in the NFL or professional sports as a whole. It might not be that unusual. Perhaps we haven’t noticed repeat outfits in the past.
However, it seems to me as though players typically wear clothes on the day prior to the game that are different than the clothes they wear on the day of the game. Especially after a cross-country flight. No?
Kelce flew from Kansas City to Buffalo with the rest of the Chiefs. He was filmed wearing a colorful striped sweater with a loose mustard yellow suit and a beanie while getting off of the plane.
Regardless of whether the shared style was intentional or not, his outfit shared a striking resemblance to one of his girlfriend’s album covers. Taylor Swift wore a very similar get-up for Anti-Hero!
That was on Saturday.
About 24 hours later, Kelce arrived to Highmark Stadium. He was wearing the exact same outfit that he wore one day prior. There was no difference. Not even the hat.
The fashion police might shout “OUTFIT REPEATER!” but what do they know?! I have no issue with Kelce doubling back on an outfit that he finds to be particularly suave.
But with that being said — a flight from Kansas City to upstate New York is not short. Unless he changed right before landing and changed again upon arrival to the team hotel, Kelce wore out his outfit on Saturday.
Would you want to wear the same clothes that you wore for a travel day on the next day on purpose? I most certainly would not. There’s no way I am choosing to wear travel day clothes again before a good wash. Maybe I would feel differently if I flew private/charter…
Logistics aside, Kelce has the attention of Swifties worldwide. Did he really think that they weren’t going to notice him wearing the same clothes on back-to-back days?
Maybe his bag got lost. Maybe he packed poorly.
Whatever the reason, Travis Kelce wore the same clothes on Sunday as he did on Saturday. Hate to see it!
