It’s a tough day for the “Trevor Bauer deserves another chance in Major League Baseball” crowd, as the controversial former MLB pitcher has been going viral for getting shelled by Europeans in an exhibition game.
In recent weeks, the 33-year-old former Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher has been traveling around Europe, most recently popping up in a game between Team Switzerland and Team Czech Republic.
Bauer took to X, formerly Twitter, on October 20 to post about the experience, thanking fans who “came from all over Europe” to watch the game.
What an awesome day getting to pitch for Team Swiss against Team Czech Republic today!

On November 3, Bauer will make his way to London for the “Bauer vs. Europe” challenge, which will see the 2020 Cy Young winner face off against 15 amateur batters who sign up for the competition
On X, formerly Twitter, a promotion for Bauer’s challenge has been going viral, but likely not for the reason he’d want, as a video of him getting taken yard has been making the rounds on social media.
While it’s unclear who is batting against Bauer or how old they are, social media seems to think it’s a teenager. The reaction of the batter certainly seems to suggest that even he’s surprised by taking Bauer yard.

“I haven’t seen a 14-year-old damage a baseball player’s career reputation this hard since Wander Franco got arrested,” one Mets fan posted in response to the video.
“Giving up bombs to someone a third his age yet he and his incel fans think he’s a ‘Top 5 pitcher in MLB,'” wrote another.
Bauer fell out of Major League Baseball in 2021 after he was accused of and investigated for sexual battery. The Los Angeles County DA’s Office didn’t file charges due to a lack of evidence. In the years since the first allegation, another three women have accused Bauer of alleged sexual assault/battery, bringing the total number to four. None of those accusations have been brought to trial, however.
Bauer is currently pitching for the Diablos Rojos del México in the Mexican Baseball League, where he was named Pitcher of the Year.
