Tulane and Louisiana-Lafayette (or whatever they want to be called these days) are currently involved in a war over cheap beer. Both schools claim to offer the lowest prices in college football.

It seems as though the Ragin’ Cajuns take the crown!

This conversation got underway on Wednesday when an aggregator account posted the price of beer at “every” (most) college football stadiums on X. It listed Tennessee at $13.00, which is the most expensive. Tulane and TCU were listed at $3.00, which is the least expensive. The NCAA average is $8.34.

If you know anything about The Pelican State, you know that Lousianimals don’t joke when it comes to booze. They are extremely territorial over alcohol, even between different cities and parrishes.

Don’t tell someone from Shreveport that people from Baton Rouge can drink them under the table. The same goes for everywhere else, including Lafayette and New Orleans— as you will soon see. An in-state beer war proceeded to unfold!

Tulane was very proud to announce that it offers the cheapest suds in college football.

Louisiana (Lafayette) took a line from Lee Corso and said, “not so fast, my friend!” The Ragin’ Cajuns clapped back with a graphic of their own. They made it clear who actually offers the cheapest beer.

Where the Green Wave charges $3, an ice-cold Natural Light costs just $2 at Cajun Field!

Tulane and UL(L) will play each other on Sept. 21. Not only will it be a crucial matchup in terms of in-state bragging rights, it is an opportunity for two rowdy fanbases to try and drink the stadium dry— even though the Cajuns have done so on their own in the past.

Meanwhile, BYU will be serving its own drinks!

Shoutout to the state of Lousiana. Whether it is $2 or $3 per beer, the opportunity to spend less than $20 on a six-pack while watching a college football game absolutely rules!
