Micah Parsons made some bold claims when speaking on his abilities on the diamond this offseason. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker said he could hit .200 against Major League pitching over a 162-game season.

Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow was filled in on the comments this week while speaking with reporter Chris Rose. The Los Angeles ace laughed in the face of those predictions!

Parsons made the statement in response to a baseball question that was asked to both him and Texans signal caller CJ Stroud.

“If you played in 162 MLB games, with five at-bats a game, how many hits do you think you could get?”

His reply? About 200!

He immediately rethought that answer after realizing that would equate to a .400 average – a number that hasn’t been posted by an MLB player since World War II.

He then said, “I meant, like, I can go about .200.” Or 100 hits.

Stroud was seen chuckling in the background at Micah Parsons’ confidence. He’d receive a similar response from an actual Major League pitcher.

Tyler Glasnow shut down Parsons’ claim.

He thought it would be closer to around five hits… again, in 500 at-bats! Take a listen.

“Did he ever play baseball?” the pitcher asked. “No? Then, no. If he had 500 at-bats? Five hits. I think once he steps in and sees a big league [pitcher], he’d be like, ‘Nevermind.’ You know what I mean?

“I think it’s good to have confidence – I appreciate the confidence – but five hits, maybe.”

As we’ve seen over the last few weeks, baseball can make even the most athletic people on the planet look absolutely silly. Caleb Williams found out in Chicago, as did Kendrick Perkins in Boston.

And those were just batting practice sessions! Imagine what live pitching would’ve looked like.

Micah Parsons might’ve been a little over-confident in that initial estimate. Tyler Glasnow wasn’t buying it!
