Tyler Shough will finally exhaust his college football eligibility at Louisville this fall after starting his journey at Oregon in 2019. The 24-year-old quarterback most recently spent three years at Texas Tech and does not have the nicest things to say about Lubbock.

Red Raiders fans are not happy with their former signal-caller’s description of their college town.

Shough, a former-four star prospect, was the 10th-ranked quarterback in the recruiting Class of 2018 behind guys like Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Matt Corral. Although most guys his age have long since graduated, the Arizona-native has one season left.

Justin Herbert was the starter in Eugene when Shough arrived. He spent two years as the backup for the Ducks. 2020 was his first year as QB1. Oregon went 4-3 with him at the helm. Not ideal.

As a result of the poor performance, Shough hit the transfer portal and ended up at Texas Tech. Unfortunately, he broke his collarbone in 2021, injured his shoulder in 2022 and broke his leg in 2023.

Shough’s first five years of college football did not go according to plan. However, his frustrating injury history allowed him to return in 2024 for one last run.

It led him to Louisville, where he is expected to start for the Cardinals.

Paul Rogers, the voice of UL football, asked Tyler Shough about his three years in Lubbock during the team’s radio show on Wednesday night. The quarterback did not have nice things to say.

He said it smells like “cow s—” and wind.

Red Raiders fans did not appreciate how Shough spoke of his former school. They immediately mocked him for his poor play— even though he never got the opportunity to reach his full potential.

Louisville and Texas Tech will not play each other in 2024 unless it is during the postseason. That sure would be fun!
