Tyreek Hill ‘Not Surprised’ That Cop Who Arrested Him Is On Administrative Leave

Tyreek Hill

The first Sunday of the NFL Regular season got off to a newsworthy start well before any touchdowns were scored when Miami Dolphins stars Tyreek Hill was pulled over and eventually arrested and placed on the pavement about 150 minutes before the team’s opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was eventually charged with reckless driving, and played in the dramatic 20-17 Dolphins’ win.

But, many disapprove of the way that Tyreek Hill was allegedly handled by Miami police, being put on the ground for what was ultimately a reckless driving charge. After the game, Tyreek Hill spoke about the incident and the fact that one of the officers has been placed on administrative leave.

Here’s video of the incident.

During the Dolphins’ game, it was announced that one of the officers involved had indeed been placed on administrative leave and the director of the Miami-Dade Police Department wanted an immediate review.

Meanwhile, Hill picked up where he left off last year with another monster game.  He caught 7 passes for 130 yards and an 80-yard touchdown that helped turn a game that the Dolphins had trailed in 17-7.

He referenced his arrest with this touchdown celebration, too.

But, after the game, the thing everyone wanted to know about wasn’t anything that happened on the field. Rather, it was what happened before the game that everyone wanted to know about.

He had this, in part, to say about the incident.

It will be interesting to see what ultimately comes out regarding this arrest and the actions of the officers involved. Things like body cam footage, if they have it, will shed a lot of light on the situation.
