Tyreek Hill recently shared who he thinks are the top five quarterbacks in the National Football League, and while 80% of his selections are what you’ve come to expect from Top 5 NFL QB discussions, his fifth and final choice was truly out of left field.

According to the 30-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro first team member, the top five signal callers in the NFL are as follows: his former teammate Patrick Mahomes at #1 and his current QB Tua Tagovailoa at #2, followed by Lamar Jackson at #3, Dak Prescott at #4, and finally, the doozy of the bunch, Baker Mayfield at #5.

While the 29-year-old former Oklahoma Sooner certainly had a bounceback season his 2023 — he led the Tampa Bay Bucs to an NFC South title, the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs and was selected to the Pro Bowl — the fact remains that he’s been with four teams since 2021. And if he were a Top 5 NFL QB, that simply wouldn’t be true.

Since departing from the Cleveland Browns, the team that drafted him, in 2021, Mayfield has also played for the Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams, and now the Bucs.

Earlier this offseason, the Bucs committed their immediate future to the former Heisman Trophy winner as Mayfield signed a three-year $100 million with the organization that comes with $50 million guaranteed.

In his first season with the Bucs, Mayfield started in all 17 regular season games and led the team to a 9-8 record. In those 17 games, he set career-highs in completions (364), attempts (566), completion percentage (64.3%), passing yards (4,044), and passing touchdowns (28).
