Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill joined his agent in calling for the police officers who facilitated his arrest to be fired. The 30-year-old wide receiver demands “immediate termination” for using excessive force during the incident.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce was completely captivated by what went down outside of Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday and offered praise for his on-field response!

Hill released a statement through his attorney, Julius Collins, on Tuesday night. It echoed agent Drew Rosenhaus’ request for the arresting officers to be relieved of their duties with the Miami-Dade Police Department. Danny Torres, who is currently on administrative leave, is listed by name.

Collins claims that Torres “placed his hands on or around” the wide receiver’s neck multiple times and “continued his escalation in his use of force,” even when Hill warned him about his knee injury.

The events that occurred […] are just a reminder of the realities of the many injustices that people of Black and minority communities face at the hands of law enforcement. While we are in no way accusing the officer of being racist, we are accusing the customs and practices of law enforcement from a historical standpoint of being discriminatory and oppressive to Black and minority communities.

We cannot ignore this fact and remain silent on the issue just because it’s a tough conversation.

Hill was formally cited for speeding at a “visual estimation of 60 mph,” as well as a seatbelt violation. Bodycam footage of the incident shows a heated altercation that was escalated by both parties.

However, the arrest turned overly physical when Hill refused to roll down his window because he didn’t want to cause a scene. Officers were quick to turn on the 5-foot-10, 191-pound NFL superstar. They forcibly removed him from his car, threw him onto the ground and put his hands behind his back. Collins (and many others in Hill’s camp) used the word “excessive” to describe the treatment.

Tyreek Hill mocked Miami PD!

Not long after being released, Hill was back on the field during the Dolphins’ three-point win over the Jaguars. He caught seven passes for 130 yards and a touchdown.

Hill pretended to get handcuffed by his teammate in the end zone to celebrate the score. It was a direct taunt of the police department that arrested him.

Kelce found it to be very entertaining. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end addressed the unusual sequence of events on the most recent episode of the ‘New Heights Podcast’ with his brother Jason.

I was watching that Miami Dolphins game just waiting for Tyreek Hill to go for 300 yards and five touchdowns knowing what happened earlier in the day.

Although the numbers were not exactly how he predicted, Kelce was right that Hill was going to pop off.

And sure enough, finally in the fourth quarter when I think Jacksonville had just fumbled the ball, literally the next play they go up top to Tyreek Hill and he has this fun touchdown celebration…

YOU CAN LOCK ME UP ALL YOU WANT, BABY!

— Travis Kelce

There are a lot of different possibilities when it comes to the outcome of Tyreek Hill’s arrest and treatment. He, his lawyer and his agent want the officers to be fired.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce — like every NFL fan across the world — was extremely entertained by the entire saga. The 34-year-old also found the defiant touchdown celebration to be a lot of fun.
