A UFC fighter learned about a serious medical issue just a day before his scheduled fight.
Before UFC 290, Josiah Harrell, a last-minute signing to replace injured fighter Sean Brady in a fight against Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 290, mysteriously pulled out of his fight on Friday after weighing in.
Due to a medical issue with Josiah Harrell, his #UFC290 bout vs. Jack Della Maddalena has been canceled, per promotion officials.

According to MMA Junkie’s Nolan King, doctors discovered Harrell is suffering from a rare brain disease and needs emergency surgery,
Per his manager Maurice Blanco: Josiah Harrell’s #UFC290 pre-fight brain MRI may have saved his life. He was diagnosed with moyamoya syndrome, a rare disease that results in blocked arteries at the base of the brain. He will undergo a brain procedure soon. https://t.co/vYfG17SJmL
