Former UFC champion Jamahal Hill nearly got into a scary incident with protesters while in NYC for UFC 295.
On Friday night, Hill’s van was caught in the middle of a march by pro-Palestinian protesters on 7th Ave and 41st in midtown Manhattan.
Hill filmed the protesters slashing the van’s tires and trying to pull out the driver.
Hill’s manager, Brian Butler described the attack on his Instagram page.
“This could have escalated very badly,” “This was a sliver of a hair away from being catastrophic. Our sprinter was caught in what seemed to be a flash protest.
“Protesters swarmed the sprinter once someone noticed some UFC logos in or on the vehicle… Driver was almost pulled out of the van, windows were broken and our tires were slashed… we were stuck in the middle of the intersection getting swarmed. Thankfully everyone is safe.”
Hill thanked UFC security for keeping him safe and not allowing him to leave the van because things could have gotten bad.
Shout to UFC security and staff they good above and beyond to protect us and make sure we are taken care of and its truly a blessing to have you all!!!!
