UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev appears to be having a tough time recovering after his last fight.
Two months ago, Chimaev fought Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 and was left with a plethora of injuries.

Chimaev (13-0) suffered a torn ligament in his right hand during the first round of his most recent fight, a decision win against former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. Chimaev’s representatives told ESPN shortly after the fight he was going to try to avoid surgery, but it now appears there has been a change in plans.
“I’m going to do a surgery, operation in one, two weeks,” Chimaev said on Instagram Live. “After that, do the recovery, come back, smash somebody.”
On Tuesday night, Chimaev posted a picture of himself in the hospital after surgery, and he wasn’t looking too good.
“I was very sick, my hand was injured, so I couldn’t return right away, I want to tell all the fountains, I want to see myself in battle more than all of you, I love this job, I will do and prove that I am the best, as always we do, and I will be back soon to Insha’Allal training ☝🏼”
