Three people are dead, and at least 12 were left injured after a monster tornado ripped through the small community of Union City, Michigan, on Friday evening in a scene reminiscent of the iconic movie Twister.
A number of residents posted videos of the tornado onsocial media late Friday, showing the absurd force of the adverse weather, as houses and a number of other objects were thrown into the air as if they were weightless.
This is the best perspective I’ve seen of the Union City, Michigan tornado. Good lord, it just tore up everything in its path, wouldn’t be surprised if this was intense (EF3+).

Extremely Dangerous Tornado Leaves Michigan Communities In Shambles
According to local radio station WTVB, Sheriff Fred Blankenship urged members of the public to stay away from the affected neighborhoods to ensure emergency personnel can work safely. Blankenship also said that ongoing power outages and communication disruptions should be expected, especially after severe weather continued into Saturday morning.
The high winds also ripped the roofs completely off several local houses and businesses, including a Menards home improvement store.
I just drove through Three Rivers, Michigan after the tornado. Lots and lots of BIG trees down. My wife works at the hospital and it got hit hard. No one was hurt luckily. pic.twitter.com/Z6ublhfvZd
