The BYU Cougars are 7-0, ranked No. 11 in the country, and coming off a huge win over hated in-state rival Utah on Saturday.
And it’s safe to say that Cougars fans are fired up.
BYU fans swarmed the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday following the final whistle and, in doing, likely incurred a $50,000 fine from the Big 12 Conference for doing so.
Five times the announcer said, “DO NOT rush the field or we will receive a fine.”
Next minute: *the coaches and players waiving the fans down to come celebrate, they said forget that fine😂Cougar Nation family is the best in the world. Defended LES last night. Cool to be… pic.twitter.com/BW3XyReOLx

According to fans in attendance, thein-stadium announcer attempted to dissuade fans from rushing the field. However, BYU players and coaches did exactly the opposite.
Even BYU President Shane Reese got in on the fun, crowd surfing after the victory.

Crumbl Cookies CEO Steps Up To Pay BYU Fine
Now, in the grand scheme of things, $50,000 really isn’t much to BYU. The school’s endowment was estimated to be north of $3 billion in 2023, and that number has likely grown.
And it’s clear the school’s donors do not mind spending money on athletics.
One donor in particular, Crumbl Cookies CEO Jason McGowan, has already stepped up and offered to foot the bill for fans storming the field after the victory over the Utes.

“Jason has built his career around creating meaningful moments,” Crumbl said in a statement about the gesture, “and he didn’t want to miss the chance to help his fellow Cougar fans enjoy one.”
McGowan is not an alumnus of BYU. However, he is a Utah native and a longtime fan. McGowan and his cousin, Sawyer Hemsley, co-founded the now national cookie brand in 2017.
