Mike Vrabel Made Urban Meyer Sound Like An Awful Guy After Owen Wilson Put Him On Blast

Every new story about Urban Meyer somehow manages to make him even worse than the last. Mike Vrabel was the latest person of status to pile on the three-time FBS national champion and failed head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars during his appearance on the ManningCast on Monday night.

His former boss did not remember him even though they worked closely together for a substantial period of time.

Vrabel, who is currently unemployed, joined Peyton and Eli on ESPN not long after the Wilson brothers— Owen and Luke. The elder of the two recalled an interaction he had with Meyer during a charity flag football game. Meyer was not sure how he knew Owen Wilson, who reminded him that he was on his team. Wilson is still not convinced that Meyer would know who he is even today.

Vrabel believes Wilson is correct based on an interaction he had with Meyer during the 2021 NFL season.

The three-time Super Bowl champion linebacker played college football at Ohio State. He is a legend in Columbus. Prior to his stints with the Texans and Titans, Vrabel coached the linebackers and defensive line at his alma mater from 2011-2013. Meyer was the head coach of the Buckeyes from 2012-2018. They crossed over. They worked very closely together and went 24-2!

Vrabel and Meyer spent almost every day with each other for two years. And yet, the latter asked the former to reintroduce himself less than a decade later. Wilson’s story reminded Vrabel of the bizarre interaction with his former boss when he was the head coach of the Titans and Meyer was the head coach of the Jaguars.

Yikes. Urban Meyer did not remember one of his former staffers, who also happens to be one of the biggest names in football. That’s a horrible look. Leave it to Mike Vrabel to pull no punches!
