On the eve of the 2024-25 NFL season, league commissioner Roger Goodell was at the US Open in Queens rubbing elbows with another famous Roger…Roger Federer, during the US Open Quarterfinals.
As is the case pretty much anytime Roger Goodell steps out in the limelight these days, someone had a ‘script writing’ joke. This time around it came from the official US Open account on X (formerly Twitter) where they joked that Roger Goodell was “taking a break from last-minute scriptwriting” prior to the season kickoff on Thursday.
‘NFL script’ aside, can we just acknowledge for a moment that Roger Goodell has drip?

Sometimes you have to hand it to him and this time we do. The man’s got drip. That single-handed clutch of the stemless white wine glass with another in his pocket. There’s a hint of a five figure watch poking out of his blazer over his polo. That’s the look of a man with an estimated net worth of $250 million, the confidence of a man who makes over $63 million a year.
You do have to wonder what these two might’ve been discussing, Goodell and Federer, that is:

As for the comments on X, someone joked “dang this might be your last tweet” and another said “You funny for this you need a raise.” It’s truly incredible what the top replies look like on X these days due to ‘Blue’ being automatically surfaced at the top of the replies.
