USA Basketball Mocks Noah Lyles After Winning Gold At Olympics

USA Basketball had a message for Noah Lyles after the team’s big win.

Last year, Lyles went viral when he mocked NBA players for crowning themselves as “world champions” despite not competing against teams around the world.

“You know the thing that hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA finals and they have “world champion” on their head. World champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong. I love the U.S., at times, but that ain’t the world. That is not the world. We are the world. We have almost every country out here fighting, thriving, putting on their flag to show that they are represented. There ain’t no flags in the NBA.”

After Lyles won the bronze medal at the 200m race this week, USA Basketball took a shot at the American sprinter on social media.

“We don’t play for bronze.”

On Saturday, Team USA won gold after defeating France in the finals, and the official USA Basketball Twitter page once again fired a shot at Lyles.

“Are we the World Champs now?”

Hopefully, the beef between Team USA basketball and Lyles will end after the Olympics.
