As college football programs all across the country continue to seek new ways to elevate their creative content, USC is taking things to the next level out in Los Angeles. The Trojans have set the bar extremely high for recruiting videos and have an abundance of resources at their disposal to keep it coming.

Other schools with lesser budgets are going to be scrambling to keep up!

USC’s campus is located less than 10 miles from Hollywood. It houses one of the most elite film schools in the country, backed by George Lucas. There are an abundance of creatives enrolled at the university.

All of these different factors, combined with an emphasis on its visual branding, put the Trojans’ athletic department at the top of college sports in the video space. Rich Rodriguez serves as the Director of Video Production for the athletic department. He has an elite team of full-time employees and student interns on his staff. They, together, do incredible work.

Hylton ‘Drake’ Stubbs’ most recent visit to USC is the perfect example of why/how the Cardinal and Gold is separating itself from other schools with its recruiting content. The four-star safety posted an incredible green screen video in a full uniform. He is transported to hyper-realistic 3D backdrops, including the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

The entire video is computer-generated. All of the graphics are added in through post-production. It looks real.

You wouldn’t know otherwise… if you didn’t know otherwise!

In addition to all of the awesome green screen work, USC brought out a high-tech robo cam for some of its most recent shoots. Very few — if any — other programs have access to this kind of equipment.

Nobody else is doing it like the Trojans. They are paying top dollar to top creatives for top content!
