Horrible Prison Yard Field Ruined USF Football’s Epic Recruiting Photoshoot With Lamborghinis

USF continued an ongoing trend in college football and went all-out for its most recent recruiting photoshoot. The Bulls broke out a fleet of Lamborghinis for one of the biggest weekends in program history.

There was only one problem…

Conditions of the grass at Raymond James Stadium could not have been worse. Ugly would be an understatement. It looked like a prison yard football field, straight out of ‘The Longest Yard.’

South Florida is entering its second year with head coach Alex Golesh. The former offensive coordinator at UCF and Tennessee was a huge hire for a program that had not won more than four games since 2018. It immediately paid off. The Bulls went 7-6 with a dominant bowl win over Syracuse.

There is a lot of momentum in Tampa. Golesh and his staff are swinging for the fences.

Visitors in attendance for USF’s first official recruiting weekend include:

  • Four-star WR Carl Jenkins Jr.
  • Three-star QB Locklan Hewlett — verbal commit
  • Three-star EDGE Brooks Williams — verbal commit
  • Three-star WR Koredell Bartley — verbal commit
  • Three-star EDGE Andrew Hines — verbal commit
  • Three-star EDGE Eli Jones — verbal commit
  • Three-star RB Zion Johnson — verbal commit to Cincinnati
  • Three-star DB Antavious Richardson — verbal commit to Georgia State
  • Three-star WR Christian Neptune
  • Three-star DB Max Redmon
  • Three-star DB Jermichael Gillis
  • RB Chase Garnett
  • OT Sam Browder
  • OT Sean Poret
  • LB Dillano Glaud
  • LB Dee Bowden
  • EDGE Jayden Fry
  • K Brunno Reus

The Bulls brought more than 10 different luxury sports cars to the field, mostly Lamborghinis, in an effort to impress the 19 prospects on campus. They joined in on the larger trend across the sport with the high-class vehicles for the photoshoot. It was pretty epic!

However, the field conditions could not look worse and either ruined the shoot or required a lot of photoshop to fill-in the grass.

To USF’s credit, it was not the school’s fault. The school does not have any control of the field at Raymond James Stadium. It simply plays there each fall. Maintenance is entirely up to the facility itself and to the Buccaneers. Raymond James doesn’t change out its sod until the summer.

Regardless of the circumstances, South Florida’s photoshoot was ruined by field conditions out of its control. The graphic team is going to have some work to do on the back-end!
