Hockey fans in Utah will get the chance to watch its new NHL team kick off its inaugural season on home ice on October 8th, and people who attend those games will be able to take advantage of some of the cheapest concessions prices in all of sports based on the deals that were unveiled around a week before things officially get underway.

The conclusion of the most recent NHL season marked the end of an era for the Arizona Coyotes, as the franchise that set up shop in The Grand Canyon State in 1996 finally folded after being unable to overcome the financial issues that plagued the team for the bulk of its existence.

The franchise found a new owner in the form of Ryan Smith, the billionaire who expanded a portfolio that already included the Utah Jazz and Real Salt Lake by dropping $1.2 billion to acquire the team that will be known as the “Utah Hockey Club” during its first season in Salt Lake City (a permanent name—rumored to be the Utah Yeti—will be adopted ahead of the 2025-26 campaign).

Utah HC will be sharing the Delta Center with the Jazz, and that venue will be undergoing some renovations over the next few years in an attempt to address some sightline issues stemming from a seating arrangement that was designed with basketball in mind.

As a result, it may not be an ideal NHL barn as things currently stand, but the franchise is doing what it can to make up for those shortcomings with some insanely cheap deals at the concession stands where fans will be able to grab a bottle of water for $2 and grab a hot dog, a box of popcorn, a tray of nachos, or a cup of ice cream for just $3 a pop.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, those prices will also be available at Jazz games and mark a concerted effort to offer fans some deals on items that were previously being sold for more (water cost $5 last season, while hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, and ice cream were respectively $5.50, $8.50, $5.75, and $8.25).

There’s no way to know how Utah HC’s first season is going to pan out, but that’s certainly a solid start.
