The UTSA baseball team upset in-state rival Texas on the diamond Tuesday night, 8-7. The Roadrunners viciously trolled after the fact.

The social media admin hit the Longhorns with the “Horns Down” on X in celebration of the victory. They cast aside their shared affiliation while claiming superiority.

UT-San Antonio is one of nine schools in the University of Texas System. Established in 1969, it’s operated under that umbrella for 55 years.

On Tuesday, the Roadrunners took on “big brother” Texas in Austin. The ‘Horns entered on a 17-game winning streak. They’d leave with their second loss on the season.

Texas actually jumped out to a 6-2 lead through five innings. UTSA then stormed back with five runs over their next two at-bats. The Longhorns tied things up in the eighth before the Roadrunners won in the 12th frame.

UT-San Antonio improved to 17-6 with the victory. It represented their third win over a ranked foe this season. They wasted no time in trolling their latest victim.

After the game, the social media team posted a Horns Down graphic on X. They made sure to announce their achievement to the public.

UTSA snapped Texas’s 17-game winning streak with the extra inning win. Interestingly, both of the Longhorns’ losses this year have come after the ninth frame.

Texas will look to get back in the win column on Friday when they host SEC rival LSU. The Roadrunners will match up against Charlotte this weekend.
