The Vanderbilt Commodores pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football history on Saturday night when they took down top-ranked Alabama, 40-35.
Vandy entered the contest as 22.5-point underdogs and hadn’t beaten the Crimson Tide since 1984
After the game, the Commodores had a bit of fun at the expense of former Alabama coach Nick Saban, who previously said that Vanderbilt was “the only place in the SEC that’s not hard to play.”
Nick Saban two weeks ago:

“Because when you play Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have,” Saban continued.
But Vandy didn’t forget about those words, and after perhaps the biggest victory in the program’s 122-year victory, they made sure to let Saban know about it.

Of course, Saban retired following the 2023 season and never lost to the Commodores during his run at the helm of the Crimson Tide. So there may have been something to his claim about playing against Vandy in Nashville.
But sooner or later, he had to know that that “rat poison” as he likes to call it would come back to bite him.
Saban is now off living his best life as one of the hosts of ESPN ‘College GameDay.’ But Vanderbilt appears to be one of the few schools to say that they were able to get the last laugh against one of the sport’s legendary coaches.
