Victoria Cameron qualified for the NCAA Championships in track and field with a blazing fast performance during the Regionals. The two-sport athlete, who they call the ‘Soccer GOAT’ broke her own school record for the fifth time this season in the 100-meter event to punch her ticket to Eugene.
Don’t blink or you might miss her!
Cameron is one of the most impressive high school athletes in Texas state history. She was named as the District MVP and Golden Boot winner in 2023 as a two-time Offensive District MVP and an All-State selection. Stephenville High School won four district championships, reached two regional semifinals and lost the state championship during her career. Meanwhile, she also won two state titles in the 100-meter sprint, medaled in the Nike Outdoor Championships and broke three school records. It wasn’t even close.
Needless to say, Victoria Cameron (who more often goes by Tori) had the resume to compete in both track and field and soccer on the collegiate level after an impressive career at Stephenville. Tarleton State gave her that opportunity!
Cameron, a 5-foot-5 sophomore, played in 30 games at forward for the Texans over two years with five caps. The first goal of her collegiate career was the eventual game-winner at Cal Baptist. She used her track speed to out-sprint the defender and tucked it past the keeper.

Tarleton State might give Cameron a more expansive role on the pitch as a junior but it is on the track where she is really making some noise. The Texans broke the all-time WAC record en route to qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in the 4×100-meter relay. Cameron ran the anchor leg.
She ran her second race of the day less than 90 minutes later.
Not only did the sophomore speedster qualify for the Championships in the 100-meter, Cameron crushed the all-time WAC record and her own school record yet again with a time of 11.01 seconds. She finished just one hundredth of a second behind the top time in the region by USC.
Cameron is the only non-Power Four sprinter in the region to advance!
And here’s the thing. Victoria Cameron accomplished this impressive feat despite a horrible start. There is a legitimate opportunity for her to make some noise in Eugene if she can get out of the blocks!
Folks in the crowd were blown away by her come-from-behind performance. They did not expect the white girl to be as fast as she is!
Victoria Cameron also reached the qualifying round of the 200-meter event but chose not to run her third race in less than three hours. Her focus is fully on the 100. She could not wait to get back to the bus after the meet was over. The exhaustion had set in.
NCAA Championships competition will get underway for Cameron on Thursday, June 12 or Friday, June 13 with the Semifinal round of the 100. The final will take place on Saturday if the two-sport phenom can get there. Regardless of what happens in Oregon, Victoria Cameron will start training for the fall with the soccer team shortly after she gets back from Texas. It’s a grind!
