The Colorado Buffaloes entered Saturday’s Big 12 contest against 4-6 Kansas with everything in their favor. The Buffs had won their last four games. Superstar Travis Hunter is the Heisman Trophy favorite, and quarterback Sheduer Sanders has played at a level that secured him a spot at the Heisman Trophy ceremony as well.
But Colorado quickly learned that nothing will be handed to it. Kansas came out hot and took a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Sanders played well, going 12-of-13 for 157 yards and two touchdowns in the opening half. But the Jayhawks made life tough on him.
Unfortunately, that included a nasty late hit by Kansas defensive end Dean Miller.

College Football Fans Irate Over Dirty Hit On Shedeur Sanders That Goes Unflagged
Miller, a defensive end, attempted to chase Sanders down out of the pocket. The star quarterback got rid of the ball before he could be dragged down. But Miller still went low, upending Sanders and sending him flipping onto his head and neck.
Somehow, no flag was thrown on the play. And fans couldn’t believe it.
This is nuts. But if he glances his helmet, he can’t keep playing. https://t.co/uVYRn96gka

Wait.. no flag on this trash? He should have been kicked out of the game and then suspended by the conference for at least another game or two! https://t.co/891528sYRK

Pretty clear roughing penalty. Bad miss by the officials.
Shedeur’s toughness is one of his best traits. https://t.co/RSa0t7EtKj

Somehow, Sanders remained in the game and didn’t look at all bothered by the late hit. Colorado scored a pair of touchdowns late in the first half, including a 51-yard hookup between Sanders and Hunter. But the Jayhawks currently hold a 23-14 lead at the half.
