We have completed three weeks of the 2025 NFL season and there has been a ton of movement in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings around here. We saw a shakeup at the top and the bottom of this week’s power rankings with some veteran QBs struggling mightily and some other quarterbacks having breakout performances.

As we’ve seen in the past two weeks, there were some huge swings in the NFL quarterback power rankings from week 1 to week 2 and again in week 3.

2025 Week 3 Power Rankings: Ranking All 32 Starting NFL Quarterbacks

During last week’s NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings there was a TON of movement. With each week we get more data and a deeper understanding of the ebbs and flows of each starting QB’s games but early on in th season like this we still see a lot of movement.

32. Joe Flacco – Cleveland Browns (Prev. 27)

Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel

At some point the Cleveland Browns will seek to move on from veteran Joe Flacco. He fell to last place in the Week 3 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings from 27th last week after throwing for just 142 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

The Browns did get a W but it is hard to see how Flacco was involved in that. Cleveland didn’t have any points on the board until the 4th quarter and then blocked a field goal for TD to win as time expired. Another week or two of mediocrity and Flacco might be put out to pasure.

31. Michael Penix Jr. – Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 23)

Michael Penix Jr.

Dale Zanine-Imagn Images

Things were so bad for Michael Penix Jr. in Week 3 that he was benched for veteran backup Kirk Cousins. The Falcons have said he remains the starting QB but how much longer can they realistically stick with him if he continues to play like he did?

Throwing for 172 yard, 2 interceptions, and connecting on just 18 of 36 pass attempts, Michael Penix Jr. got shut out by the Panthers who picked up their first win of the season. Is it too early to wonder if Atlanta is tanking for the #1 pick if they stick with Michael Penix Jr. going into Weeks 4 and 5?

30. Jake Browning – Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 21)

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning

Cincinnati Bengals backup QB Jake Browning is being called in to pick up the pieces left by Joe Burrow who will be out for a LONG time if not the whole season and Browning just is not that dude. He got destroyed by the Vikings.

Jake Browning threw for 140 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions, connected on only 19 of 27 pass attempts, rushed for only 3 yards. If there was any bright spot it’s that he wasn’t responsible for any of the Bengals’ 5 fumbles.

29. Spencer Rattler – New Orleans Saints (Prev. 30)

Spencer Rattler moved up one spot in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings from 30th to 29th. Good for him!

Rattler threw for 218 yards, connecting on 28 of 39 pass attempts for 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He took two sacks. And then got blown out in Seattle 13-44 against Sam Darnold and the Seahawks. New Orleans is down bad this season and despite Rattler having a better week than last, he needs to do a lot more to climb the leaderboard.

28. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (Prev. 22)

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa

Tua might be finding form but at this point he is still a bottom tier QB in the league with his level of play. We know he had the capacity to turn things around but we have not seen it from him yet this season.

In Week 3, Tua threw for just 146 yards but had 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also fumbled the ball once. Miami lost to Buffalo in Buffalo but that seemed like a foregone conclusion with how the team has played the two weeks prior. Tua needs to get his locker room in order if the Dolphins want to win a game this season as they are 0-3 through three weeks.

27. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers (Prev. 26)

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young

Bryce Young picked up his first win of the season. But he threw the ball for only 121 yards and had 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Bryce Young also took 7 sacks.

Young did run the ball in for an easy rushing TD, having just 8 yards on the ground in the game. This win would look a lot better if he’d really done much of anything. But they Panthers got a 30-0 shutout win over NFC South rival Atlanta and he will look to build momentum going into next week.

26. Bo Nix – Denver Broncos (Prev. 24)

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

Bo Nix lost a close one on the road to the Chargers and there’s no shame in that because the Chargers have looked phenomenal through three weeks this season. I would have liked to move Bo Nix up in the Quarterback Power Rankings but he didn’t give me much to work with this week.

Nix threw the ball for only 153 yards and 1 touchdown. He had a QBR of 38.6 and took 2 sacks. Coutland Sutton accounted for 118 of Bo’s yards through the air and that included one 52-yard reception. Without that outlier his week would have looked atrocious.

25. Russell Wilson – New York Giants (Prev. 14)

Steelers QB Russell Wilson

Russ looked awesome in Week 2. The same cannot be said in Week 3. He dropped 11 spots in the weekly NFL quarterback power rankings after a 22-9 loss at home to the chiefs.

The veteran QB threw the ball 32 times and connected on just 18 of those pass attempts. He had 160 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, and threw 2 interceptions. It was almost surprising the Giants didn’t bench him with such a lackluster performance.

24. Tyrod Taylor – New York Jets (Prev. Unranked)

Making his debut on the 2025 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings is New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor. He had a decent debut but lost on the road at Tampa Bay.

Taylor threw for 197 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He was sacked 4 times for nearly 30 yards and lost a fumble. Tyrod did scramble/rush for 48 yards, leading the Jets, which is something we often see from QBs’ first game of the season when they are trying to make too much happen.

23. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans (Prev. 15)

Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud

At some point we have to wonder if C.J. Stroud’s rookie season was a fluke, right? We have not seen that magic from him yet this season and he fell from 15th to 23rd in the Week 3 Quarterback Power Rankings.

C.J. Stroud threw the ball for 204 yards, 1 TD, and had 2 interceptions. Houston took the loss on the road to Jacksonville, 17-10, in a game where Trevor Lawrence did virtually nothing. It was a bad look for C.J. Stroud.

22. Aaron Rodgers – Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 10)

Through three weeks, we have seen one phenomenal week from Aaron Rodgers and two weeks that are total headscratchers compared to his great week. This was one of the latter and Rodgers dropped again in the Starting Quarterback Power Rankings for Week 3.

Aaron threw for just 139 yards but had 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He scrambled for a total of 1 yard but he has never been a dual threat QB. Pittsburgh got the 21-14 win over New England on the road and Rodgers did his part in that but there are major questions looming about his ability to gel with the Steelers’ offense.

21. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 17)

Trevor Lawrence picked up Jacksonville’s second win of the season in a 17-10 win at home over the Texans. Trevor did *just enough* to keep his team in it, throwing the ball for 222 yards (20/40) and 0/1 TD/INT.

If there’s one thing he did well it was keep the offense on the field. Jacksonville had 17 first downs to Houston’s 13. Time of possession was 31:18 to 28:42. That proved to be pivotal as Trevor and the Jags got a close win.

20. Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 12)

Kyler Murray has been all over the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings through three weeks and he dropped from 12th to 20th this week after throwing for only 159 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interception in a 15-16 loss to the 49ers with backup Mac Jones.

Murray connected on just 22 of 35 passing attempts. Without Arizona’s safety in the 4th quarter this game looks a lot less close. Kyler needs to do more in Week 4.

19. Marcus Mariota – Washington (Prev. Unranked)

With Jayden Daniels out this week, former Heisman Award runner-up Marcus Mariota made his debut with the Washington Commanders and got a big win. Washington blew out the Raiders 41-24.

Mariota looked solid in his debut, throwing for 207 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, losing one fumble, but also scrambling for 40 yards and another rushing touchdown. For his season debut, Mariota looked great.

18. Carson Wentz – Minnesota Vikings (Prev. Unranked)

With J.J. McCarthy out injured, veteran QB Carson Wentz made his debut with the Minnesota Vikings and he lands at #18 on the Week 3 Quarterback Power Rankings this week. He could be higher if we had more data but we need to see another week before moving him up closer to #1.

Wentz and the Vikings demolished the Bengals, winning 48-10. Carson threw for 173 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He connected on 14 of 20 passes for an 8.7yd average/attempt. He did take 3 sacks but ultimately it didn’t matter in the rout against Cincinnati at home.

17. Cam Ward – Tennessee Titans (Prev. 25)

Cam Ward moved up 9 spots #17 this week in the Week 3 Quarterback Power Rankings. He had a solid week but still took the ‘L’ at home, losing 41-20 to Daniel Jones and the Colts.

What we saw from Cam Ward this week was hopefully flashes of what is to come in the future. He threw for 219 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 INT, and didn’t fumble the ball. He did take 4 sacks for 23 yards though and needs to work on getting rid of the ball sooner.

16. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (Prev. 5)

Jordan Love lost to the Browns. Yes, the entire Green Bay Packers lost to the Browns (on the road too) but Jordan Love simply needed to do more in order to get his team the W. If they are a Super Bowl caliber team, which last week everyone thought they were, they cannot lose to Joe Flacco and the Browns.

Jordan Love threw for 183 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Green Bay was held scoreless in the 1st and 4th quarters. Love is still a stud but had to drop after a loss to Cleveland.

15. Mac Jones – San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 19)

In his second week for the injured Brock Purdy, Mac Jones got the job done at home for San Francisco. He had 284 passing yards (27/41) for 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

It was a close game, 16-15, but it looked closer with Arizona getting a 4th quarter safety. Mac did what needed to be done though and San Francisco moved to 3-0 on the season with Mac Jones going 2-0 after Brock Purdy went out. It’s exactly what the 49ers want to see from their backup.

14. Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 29)

It is safe to say Sam Darnold was ‘back’ this week, connecting on 14 of 18 pass attempts for 218 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also took 0 sacks in a 44-13 blowout at home against New Orleans. Everything was working for Sam Darnold and the Seahawks on Sunday and he moved up 15 spots from 29th to 14th.

13. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 11)

Dak Prescott

Dale Zanine - Imagn Images

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Dak Prescott looked solid and the Cowboys lost. Dak did throw two interceptions but had 251 yards through the air, 1 touchdown, and got zero help from Dallas Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Klayton Adams.

I believe that Dak dropped one spot this week because Dallas is simply too cautious. They rely on the rock solid field goal kicking from Brandon Aubrey instead of going for it on 4th down more. In the 31-14 loss to Chicago, Dallas had more 1st downs, total yards, total plays (67-57), fewer penalty yards (25-41), and they led time of possession by 5 minutes. That’s not all on Dak Prescott, is it?

12. Drake Maye – New England Patriots (Prev. 16)

Drake Maye had a great week 2 and followed it up with great stats in Week 3 despite taking the loss at home to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. The Patriots are still calling on Drake Maye to throw the ball A LOT. Probably too much.

He threw the ball 37 times and connected on 28 of those passes for 268 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also led his team on the ground with 45 rushing yards. It is hard to point the finger at him for the loss as Drake looked great out there.

11. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions (Prev. 3)

QB Jared Goff passing the ball

After looking virtually flawless in Week 2, Jared Goff got a signature win in Week 3 but actually fell because it was the rushing game that got the huge win in Baltimore on the road, not Goff’s play.

Jared Goff threw the ball for 202 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, but he fumbled the ball once. Goff is 7th in the NFL through three weeks with 761 passing yards and has 7 touchdowns on the season but had a pretty pedestrian Week 3 in a huge game on the road.

10. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (Prev. 28)

Caleb Williams Chicago Bears

It almost feels criminal jumping Caleb Williams up this much in the Week 2 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings but Caleb deserves his flowers after arguably the best performance in all of Week 3. He was 28th last week and moved into the top 10 this week after throwing for 298 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

Caleb Williams had a stellar 142.6 passer rating in Week 3 and deserves his spot up here for this week, at least. He is 11thin the NFL through 3 weeks in passing yards with 715 and only has 1 interception to 7 touchdowns. This week he really showed he has what it takes to manage a game.

9. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 9)

Something is not right in the Kansas City Chiefs’ locker room but that doesn’t mean it is Patrick Mahomes’ fault. He got a 22-9 win on the road over the New York Giants but watching that game closely there were some major red flags. At one point, Mahomes missed Kelce on wide open short pass so easy that kids on the playground routinely make the play. For Patrick Mahomes to throw behind his receiver like that was inexplicable.

Mahomes threw the ball for 224 yards (22/37) with 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, and took two sacks. He scrambled for just 2 yards and got an easy win at the Meadowlands and remained in the 9th spot in the weekly NFL quarterback power rankings for now.

8. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 22)

Matthew Stafford LA Rams

In one of the most exciting games of Week 3 of the NFL season, Matthew Stafford took the loss at home to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Everyone has seen the clip by now of the blocked field goal returned for a TD by the big fella.

For his part, Matthew Stafford looked great. He threw for 196 yards, 2 TDs, but did have a costly interception. Kyren Williams was his top target for 96 yards. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to beat the reigning champs but Stafford is firmly a top-10 starting quarterback in 2025.

7. Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 13)

Geno Smith Las Vegas Raiders starting QB

© Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

Geno Smith had a stellar week which is wild because the Raiders took a big loss on the road at Washington. It would be virtually impossible to point the finger at Geno for the loss though as he threw for 289 yards (19/29), 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and didn’t fumble the ball.

Geno did take 5 sacks for 28 yards and needs to get rid of the ball sooner but he is dialed in with Ashton Jeanty and climbing the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings once again.

6. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 13)

Jalen Hurts

© Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

Reigning Super Bowl champion Jalen Hurts had his first standout game of the 2025 NFL season and moved up the Quarterback Power Rankings from 13th to 6th in Week 3. He was dialed in out there, throwing for 226 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions, connecting on 21 of 32 passes.

Hurts did lose a fumble and the Eagles were *this close* to losing at home to Matthew Stafford and the Rams if it wasn’t for the last-second blocked field goal to bail them out. But Jalen Hurts looked brilliant for 95% of the game.

5. Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 8)

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones

This morning on SportsCenter they were talking about Daniel Jones being in the NFL MVP race and honestly, I get it. He has been incredible through three weeks of the season. If it wasn’t for his lackluster past with the Giants, which I think we can all now agree was the Giants’ fault, Daniel Jones would be looked at very differently through 3 weeks because he’s been stellar.

In Week 3, Daniel Jones threw for 228 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, averaged 9.1 yards/attempt and connected on 18 of 25 passes. He ran the ball for 27 yards, took 0 sacks, and coughed up zero fumbles… Is it really that insane to think he’ll keep climbing the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings to #1 if he keeps this up every week???

4. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills (Prev. 6)

Bills QB Josh Allen

Denny Medley - Imagn Images

Josh Allen climbed two spots in the Week 3 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings. After a weird couple of weeks to start the season, this was a vintage Josh Allen game.

He threw for 213 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and scrambled for 25 yards. He wasn’t called on to do any more of that and looked clinical in the second half. Allen was 22/28 in the game. He could be tops in the league if it wasn’t for a slow two weeks to start the season.

3. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Prev. 7)

Baker Mayfield Tampa Bay Buccaneers

© Kim Klement Neitzel/Imagn

Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting QB Baker Mayfield has been phenomenal through three weeks. Since joining the Bucs, he has led the NFL in passing touchdowns.

Baker threw for 233 yards and 1 touchdown in Week 3 against the Jets. He also scrambled for 44 yards. But it wasn’t his stats that moved him up this week as much as Baker needed to drive the field with the game on the line after the Jets blocked a field goal for a touchdown and he did so with clinical precision. Despite Mike Evans going out injured, Baker Mayfield had the Bucs offense firing on all cylinders.

2. Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 1)

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson

Robert Deutsch-Imagn Images

One week after moving into the #1 spot (in Week 2) of the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings, Lamar Jackson fell back to #2. He lost at home to the Detroit Lions, a team that Baltimore has dominated in recent years.

Lamar Jackson had a phenomenal game, to be sure. He is still the #2 QB in the Power Rankings. He threw the ball for 288 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Lamar Jackson also rushed for 35 yards. Detroit won the game with 224 yards on the ground and 202 yards through the air. Lamar needed to find a balance in the offense that just wasn’t there and they lost 38-30 at home on Monday night.

1. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 4)

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert

Kyle Terada-Imagn Images

Moving from #4 in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings to #1 this week is Los Angeles Charters QB Justin Herbert who has been unflappable through three weeks. His team is 3-0 this season and in Week 3 Herbert threw the ball for 300 yards, 1 touchdown (1 INT), and connected on 28 of 47 passes. He needs to work on his consistency but a huge part of that is knowing when to get rid of the ball.

Through three weeks, Justin Herbert leads all NFL starting quarterbacks with 860 passing yards, averaging 286.7/game at this point. He has just 1 interception on the season and 6 TDs through the air. Herbert has to be the leader in the NFL MVP discussion at this point because without him the Chargers would be hapless and searching for answers.

And thus concludes the Week 3 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings for all 32 NFL starting QBs last week. What do. you think we got right? Wrong? Let us know in the Facebook comments!
