The Ohio State Buckeyes blew out College Football Playoff foe Tennessee on Saturday night to the tune of a 42-17 shellacking. Despite the Vols’ attempts to take over Ohio Stadium, the game was all Buckeyes from the opening kick to the final play.

QB Will Howard took the opportunity to troll his most recent opponent on Monday. He used a popular Game of Thrones reference to do so.

“Winter came for the Volunteers,” the passer wrote on his Instagram page after the win. It might’ve been the perfect response to the blowout victory.

Tennessee fans showed up in droves to invade Ohio Stadium this past weekend. Some went as far as to call it “Neyland North” ahead of the playoff showdown.

That invasion attempt failed miserably! The Vols fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter of action. They’d fail to close that deficit to single digits over the remaining 45 minutes of game time. It was a showing of complete dominance on the Ohio State end.

Most of those visiting Vols shuffled out of the stadium before the start of the fourth quarter. The Buckeyes successfully defended their home venue.

Will Howard played a major role in the outcome. The signal caller racked up 311 yards against the Tennessee defense while tossing a pair of scores to rookie stud Jeremiah Smith, who did some talking of his own.

The Volunteers boasted of their upset chances before facing off against Ohio State. They then did their best to outnumber the home team in Columbus. In the end, Tennessee proved no match for the Buckeyes. “The North remembered” its opposition’s attempt to take over the city. Howard made sure to remind the Vols of their failed invasion efforts after the fact.
