The WNBA has admitted that Angel Reese’s ejection was a mistake.

On Tuesday night, Reese was ejected from the Sky-Liberty game after receiving back-to-back technical fouls for arguing with a ref.

Early reports indicated that Reese had told the ref, “That’s b.s.” when she got ejected, but according to the head ref in charge of the game, she was punished for “disrespectfully addressing the official.”

Less than 12 hours after the ejection, the WNBA rescinded one of the techs, which means the league is admitting that Reese didn’t deserve to be ejected.

A league spokesperson confirmed Wednesday morning that after review, the second technical was rescinded.
Forsberg declined to elaborate on the content of the comment that earned Reese the first technical. Reese had not received a warning earlier in the game, Forsberg said. Per league policy, she will be fined $200 for the first technical.

While Reese will still be fined $200 for her first technical, Bulls’ star Lonzo Ball has already stated that he was going to pay it off because he thought the ref’s tech was “weak.”
