WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is under fire for what she wore at game 5 of the WNBA Finals.
On Sunday night, the NY Liberty took home the WNBA with an overtime against the Minnesota Lynx.
Unfortunately, there was a bit of controversy at the end of the game when Breanna Stewart was awarded a foul call, which many felt wasn’t justified.
I’m disgusted. WNBA stole a championship from the Lynx. Breanna Stewart was not fouled. “Illegal guarding position” is not a call, and is never called. But to push more ratings and give NY their 1st championship, the refs cheated. Disgusting. Gotta feel for those Lynx players. pic.twitter.com/EIfBMJLoZm

During her postgame press conference, Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve told the media she felt the WNBA title was stolen from them.
After the game, Cathy Engelbert awarded the NY Liberty the WNBA trophy while wearing an interesting NY-themed dress.

Engelbert was crushed for appearing to show favoritism with her dress.
Often times the whole “the league wants Market X to win” is just a paranoid take from fans. But for the commissioner of the league to literally wear the NY skyline on her dress at Game 5, that’s not a great look. https://t.co/AjgXQ5QsQW
