Weird stories are nothing new for the internet, but the saga making the rounds today is one of the more entertaining stories I can recall seeing. Today, the world had the pleasure of reading the story of how Danny DeVito might bring an end to a 6 year relationship.
The story was posted to a Reddit page before it made it’s way to Twitter.

i actually am so surprised at how many people are siding with the husband…? of course he can decorate his home however he likes but how is it unreasonable to say no cardboard cutouts in the background of your meetings? i don’t find that unreasonable at all

Okay, hear me out:
It isn’t about the cut out of Danny Devito. At least not the issue with J. That’s one of those “indicative of a bigger problem” things. There’s definitely more beneath the surface.

I'm confused as to what her issue is? Does she feel he's being calivier with their future? Disregarding her feeling about Danny Devito? I'm confused, she doesn't ever actually explain why this is bothering her to the point of leaving him. Honestly, seems like his battle..

Not sure a cardboard cut out counts as "home decor" tbh. It's easy to move and I also would find it distracting in meetings. My work has asked us to make sure backgrounds look professional and I think that is a reasonable expectation when you're representing the company. NTA

Now, obviously there’s a lot to unpack here, but I feel like one thing is clear. This whole thing could have been avoided if the boyfriend had just left the Danny DeVito cutout out of frame. That seems like a pretty simple request. Adding an oil painting was just petty.
So, what do you think? Is the girlfriend the a-hole here?
