Today I learned several things.
1. There is a women’s professional hockey league.
2. They sometimes have full-on brawls on the ice.
3. They are awesome.
This one is between the NWHL’s New York Riveters in white and the Connecticut Whale in blue. It begins with a Whale player decking someone on New York after the whistle, and it devolves into straight up chaos. I love it. Honestly, it’s better than anything I’ve seen out of the NHL this year.
The Riveters’ Elena Orlando was suspended for leaving the bench to enter the fight.
So dope.
This is the NWHL’s inaugural season and I already love it.
