It appears that WrestleMania is coming back to Las Vegas. Back in February, The Rock returned to SmackDown to announce that WrestleMania 42 will take place in New Orleans.
On Thursday, the city of New Orleans announced that WrestleMania would not be coming to the city this year, but would be rescheduled for a different year.
“The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership,” Thursday’s statement to Wrestlenomics read, “Which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”
NOLA.com reports that WrestleMania 42 is returning to Las Vegas, after the WWE broke records.
“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”
PWInsider is also reporting that the WWE is finalizing a deal with the city of Las Vegas to hold WrestleMania there again.
The word making the rounds locally in Las Vegas this afternoon is that WWE is finalizing WrestleMania 42 to be held once again in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium next year.

WWE staffers were reportedly not told about the move ahead of time.

“Today’s news of WM42 moving away from NOLA in 2026 caught many in WWE completely off-guard, I’m told after speaking to sources.”
“No heads-up from management was given to those I reached out to. “Unforeseen” was one phrase used by at least 2 different WWE staffers.”
WrestleMania 41, which was held on April 19-20 this year at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, set gate records with an attendance of 124,693 fans over two nights.
