The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to close out a four-game sweep of the New York Yankees in the Bronx. Fans in Yankee Stadium are doing everything they can to avoid that embarrassment!

During a potentially decisive Game 4, a pair of New York supporters were spotted trying to rip a foul ball from the glove of Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts.

They succeeded in displacing the ball from his mitt but failed miserably in every other facet.

The play came in the bottom of the first inning with Yankees leadoff man Gleyber Torres at the dish. The slugger popped a shallow flyball into right field, which Betts tracked down in foul territory near the wall.

As he secured the catch, Yankees fans grabbed his hand and attempted to open his glove.

While the ball did fall from Betts’ grasp, umpires called Torres out and ruled the play dead due to interference.

Later, the fans were escorted out of Yankee Stadium by security.

Worth it? That’s up for debate!

Tickets for this year’s World Series matchup reached astronomical prices ahead of Game 1, with nosebleeds going for $1,000. Prices decreased with the Yankees falling behind 3-0 in the series, but entry still likely cost at least a few hundred dollars.

This duo caught all of three outs before getting themselves tossed from the action! Judging by the reaction to being kicked out of the game, they likely regret that decision.
