A young fan entered the field of play during an MLB contest between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. He was quickly corralled by security before taking a vicious hit.

The fan was forced to the ground by a blindside tackle from a guard in attendance. Padres pitcher Jason Adam’s reaction to the scene is now going viral.

San Diego hosted NL West rival San Francisco in baseball action on Tuesday night in Petco Park. Play was briefly paused when a patron unexpectedly left his seat to run onto the outfield grass.

Security tracked down the Padres fan and removed him from the diamond.

The youngster entered near centerfield before taking a few laps around outfielder Fernando Tatis. He surrendered after a few moments allowing two event staffers to safely escort him from play.

Out of nowhere, a third guard then got in a massive lick while others attempted to de-escalate the situation. That hit resulted in an immediate reaction from the crowd.

Boos rained down after seeing the blindside tackle. It seemed unnecessary given the fan’s surrender.

Pitcher Jason Adam might’ve had the best view in the house. Cameras captured his response from the mound as the vicious hit was delivered.

The security officer was not missing out on the opportunity to lay the wood. He made sure repercussions of the field storming were felt.

After returning to his feet, the young fan was walked off the playing field alongside officials. The game continued a couple of moments later.

Adam regathered himself to finish off a scoreless eighth inning. San Diego was able to secure the 5-1 win despite the brief distraction.
