Facebook hasn’t had a fantastic 2018, spotlighting by massive security breaches and a tumultuous stock. The turbulent year may have had an effect on Facebook employees because they are less satisfied with their jobs and thusly Mark Zuckerberg’s social media network has dropped out of the #1 spot on Glassdoor’s “2019 Best Places to Work” list.

Glassdoor is a website where employees and former employees can anonymously review companies. Their annual “Best Places to Work” list explores companies with more than 1,000 employees and examined over 45 million anonymous and voluntary reviews from current and former employees. The rankings are based on a company’s overall rating, career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, senior management, work-life balance, the likelihood it would be recommended to a friend, and a six-month business outlook.

Glassdoor named the 100 best places to work and the companies range in industries such as tech, consulting, fast-food, healthcare, travel, and more. In last year’s Best Places to Work list by Glassdoor, Facebook was ranked as the top employer but slipped to No. 7 in this year’s ranking. Google went from fifth place to eighth place this year. This year’s No. 1 place to work is consulting firm Bain & Co., which is the only company to be named as the best company to work for four times (2012, 2014, 2017, 2019). Bain & Co., which operates 57 offices in 36 countries, is followed by video-calling software maker Zoom, and fast-food purveyor In-N-Out Burger rounds out the top three.

You can view Glassdoor’s “2019 Best Small and Medium Companies To Work For” HERE, where Heap, an enterprise software and network solutions firm, was the #1 company.
