I wondered back in July why Katy Perry posted the photo you see above to her Instagram account. I figured it was just Katy showing off her sense of humor, making light of herself. I should have known better. People like Katy Perry almost always have an ulterior motive when it comes to what they put on social media.

Turns out that it was just one of the many crazy moments to show up in her just-released basketball-themed music video for her new single “Swish Swish.”

“TUNE IN TO THE MOST ABSURD GAME OF THE CENTURY,” she captioned that last post, and she wasn’t lying. The video for “Swish Swish” is completely absurd.

In addition to Nicki Minaj, who also performs on the single, the following people also make appearances in this craziness: Gronk (because of course he’s in it), The Mountain from Game of Thrones, Karl-Anthony Towns, Joey Chestnut, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Doug the Pug, Russel “Backpack Kid” Horning, Iris Kyle, Amanda LaCount, Gatan Matarazzo, Dexter Mayfield, Sydelle Noel, Kia Stevens, Christine Sydelko, Jackie Tohn, Jenna Ushkowitz, Carter Wilkerson, Britney Young, and the West Hollywood Cheerleaders with Rich Eisen and Bill Walton as the broadcasters.
