These 3D Printed Ice Cubes Are Reason Number One Billion To Drink More Whiskey

Many of us here at BroBible have a special place in our hearts for whiskey. Some may call it a ‘dependency’ or a ‘problem,’ but we don’t like to associate with those people.

That’s why we got a whiskey boner (oxy moron, I know) when we discovered that there was something to make the whiskey experience even greater.

A Japanese advertising company named TBWA/Hakuhodo based in Tokyo, created extremely detailed ice carvings to advertise Suntory Whiskey. They coined the creation, “3D on the rocks.”

According to AdWeek, The images pictured below were carefully constructed using Autodesk 123D and 3D designs, where a 3D router carves the designs into an ice block.

The router is chilled at 19 degrees Fahrenheit and a thick drill bit is used to whittle the shape while a smaller bit is used to carve out the intricate details.

Miwako Fujiwara of TBWA/Hakuhodo told CNET that the process is complete when “a touch of chilled whiskey polishes the surface of the ice and gives a beautiful shine to the sculpture.”

The campaign rolled out in 2014 and recently received an award from Thailand’s Asia Pacific Advertising Festival for “best use of experimental.”

And if you aren’t thirsty enough yet, check out their seductive promotional video.

Drink up, bros.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
