If you don’t know who Michael Porter Jr. is now, you will by this time next year. Porter is the No. 1 college hoops recruit for 2017-18 and will attend his home state school next year, the University of Missouri, after he withdrew his commitment to Washington when Huskies fired head coach Lorenzo Romar.

The 18-year-old Porter is already making waves off the court before he even steps on a college campus. He is dating Disney star Madison Pettis, who as my colleague Doug points out, charmed audiences back in 2007 with her portrayal of of Peyton Kelly, the long-lost daughter of football star Joe Kingman (played by “The Rock”) in the Disney movie The Game Plan.

Fast forward nine years and 3.1 million Instagram followers later, Pettis is an attractive human being. Cute as a button. And Porter and Pettis look like they make a good couple. Please drink these photos in before Porter goes off to college and gets “distracted.”

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
