Matty McLean is a weatherman in New Zealand who is making some headlines after dropping the word ‘cunt’ twice during his weather report. Matty was talking about seeing Adele in concert the night before and he was all mixed up on his words, clearly overcome by the greatness of Adele in concert, and he managed to keep saying ‘cunt’ when he was attempting to say the word ‘country’. He plays it off pretty well, even though it’s obvious Matty knows what he did:
New Zealanders typically have a pretty great sense of humor when it comes to shit like this, so I’m sure Matty won’t be punished at work or fined for repeatedly saying ‘cunt’ to a live TV audience. It was an accident, and accidents happen.
As for live TV mishaps, I think Serene Branson’s on-air meltdown will always be my favorite:
After this happened, many people assumed that Serene had a stroke. She underwent exhaustive testing shortly thereafter and doctors found no evidence of a stroke. I haven’t followed up on her medical history in years but I’m assuming she’s still out there winning Emmy’s for reporting and looks back on this clip and laughs.
