Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder sang the 7th inning tradition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night at Wrigley Field. Vedder, an Evanston native and notorious Chicago Cubs fan, tried to spark the hometown Cubbies in a must-win elimination game.

Vedder dedicated his performance to Cubs catcher David Ross, who is expected to retire after this season.
Vedder has had some tough acts to follow: Bill Murray sang a one-of-a-kind rendition of the seventh inning stretch on Friday, and Vince Vaughn took the mic on Saturday night for Game 4.
Vedder’s rendition paid off because the Cubbies beat the Cleveland Indians to stave off elimination.
