The Oakland Raiders are set to bring Jon Gruden back for a second stint as coach. League sources told CBS Sports insider Jason La Canfora the Raiders are planning a news conference Tuesday to announce that Gruden is leaving the broadcast booth to come back to coaching.
The Raiders fired Jack Del Rio following a disappointing six-win season, and talk immediately turned to Gruden. Gruden spent four years as coach for the Raiders before being dealt to Tampa Bay, where he beat Oakland in the Super Bowl following his first season in 2002.
Gruden’s partner in the both, Sean McDonough, appeared to be all over the place emotionally in Gruden’s final game as an announcer.
During a huge play in the fourth quarter, McDonough got so excited about a possible Derrick Henry fumble that his voice cracked like a 14-year-old boy going through puberty.

After the game was over, McDonough got a bit choked up and appeared like he was ready to cry while saying farewell to Jon Gruden who is set to leave the booth to coach the Raiders next year.

That Gruden-McDonough goodbye was… awkward.

Sean McDonough gonna cry in the car

It’s understandable that McDonough is sad about Gruden leaving but man it’s strange to see that unfold on TV.
