A Seattle Seahawks backup QB found himself in handcuffs during the wee hours of Monday morning. Former Peach Bowl MVP and TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2016, is the primary backup behind Russell Wilson, and threw his first regular season NFL touchdown on September 25, 2016. Now, Trevone Boykin is looking at some potentially life-changing charges.
TMZ Sports was first to the scoop. They’re reporting that the Seahawks backup QB was a passenger in a car which crashed into a bar in Dallas and injured several people:
Boykin was also taken into custody and now faces drug and public intoxication charges. We’re told Boykin is accused of being in possession of more than 2 ounces of marijuana.
The car Boykin was in struck 4 people on the sidewalk and also struck a bartender inside the location as the vehicle barreled through the front wall. via

According to FOX4News, the incident took place outside of Sidebar Bar in Dallas around 2 am this morning. The driver was reportedly 26-year-old Shabrika Baley who police found in the driver’s seat…There’s of course always a chance that the driver/passenger switched places after the incident but I can’t imagine someone willingly taking a charge like that when they didn’t commit it.
TMZ Sports is also reporting that this isn’t the first time former TCU QB and current Seattle Seahawks roster player Trevone Boykin has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2015, he was arrested for a bar fight just days before TCU’s bowl game.
