Amanda Bynes has officially been detained and taken for a mental health evaluation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office on a 5150 psychiatric hold. We all knew this day would come, didn’t we?
In case you missed it, over the last few days Amanda Bynes was accused of trespassing and allegedly tried to break into a retirement community on Sunday and was involved in another altercation in her hometown of Thousand Oaks on Monday, starting a fire in the driveway of a random person.

Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office tells Hollyscoop, “Deputies investigated the incident and determined that she met the criteria of 5150 W&I (California Welfare & Institutions Code). She was detained and taken for a mental health evaluation.”
Amanda was apprehended a block from her father Richard’s Thousand Oaks home.
You may recall that Britney Spears was also placed under the same 5150 hold after her epic meltdown that ended with her shaving her head bald. (Amanda already went through THAT phase a few months ago.)
