With recent news that Keri Russell is now back on the singles market I thought this week we’d take a look back at the many reasons we became fans of her back in the day and why we still are today. Has she really been acting on TV shows and in films for 20 years now? Man, where does the time go?
Click on to see Keri the way we remember her and how she looks today.
Many don’t know this, but Keri’s first role ever was in the 1992 film Honey, I Blew Up the Kid – a classic, no doubt – but where we really grew to love her was playing Felicity Porter on the The WB show Felicity from 1998 to 2002. (Remember The WB? Yeah, me either.) Those who were around back then will never forget the uproar she caused when she dared to cut off some of her trademark curly locks. Oh, the humanity! But even before that was the truly epic scene you see above from her 1997 film Eight Days A Week. (And I mean epic.)
Unfortunately for us, at the ripe old age of 26 Keri kind of vanished from our radar once Felicity ended it’s run. She did have a small part in Mission: Impossible III in 2006 and reappeared again in the film Bedtime Stories in 2008, but that was about it of note for several years.
Previous Throwbacks: Tiffani Thiessen, Jennifer Love-Hewitt & more!
Keri did make a brief attempt at a TV comeback in 2010 starring as Emmy Kadubic in the Fox comedy Running Wilde, but that only lasted 13 episodes. Thankfully she seems pretty well-entrenched once again with her current show on FX The Americans where she plays the main character Elizabeth Jennings. We couldn’t be happier to be able to see her perform on a weekly basis once again.
