I’ve heard it said in various ways throughout the years that ‘if necessity is the mother of invention then boredom is the father.’ That seems like a pretty plausible explanation for this this 2000 pints challenge came about when some fellas drinking at the pub and in need of a project/task to keep them busy.

Jon May is about 24 hours away from completing his drinking challenge and he’s actually slightly ahead of schedule. In order to drink 2,000 pints in 200 days the math is pretty simple, it requires you to drink 10 pints each day.

With 2 nights left, Jon May was at 1,989 pints so he had two nights to complete the final 11 which means he’ll likely breeze through his goal. May took to TikTok to update followers on the penultimate day of the 2,000 pints in 200 days challenge. He’s racked up over 112K followers on his TikTok account up to this point as people are very invested in watching this fella crush 10 pints a day for 200 days.

In that video, Jon May said the 1,989 pints he’d drank through 198 days amounts to a whopping 361,998 calories. It has also cost him a pretty penny at the pub. May has spent £7,956 ($9,662) on pints during this challenge.

Also in the video, May invited his followers, friends, family, and colleagues (everyone) to join him for his final day of the challenge. He thinks he’ll be sipping the 2,000th pint in 200 days sometime between 4-6 PM tomorrow in England.

2000 Pints In 200 Days Challenge

Having participated in some epic but mind-numbingly stupid drinking challenges in the past, I love everything about this. And I can perfectly envision how it all started. He heard someone say or do something and was like ‘yeah, I can top that.’ Then this 2,000 pints in 200 days challenge was born.

In fact, according to the Mirror, it all began when another person on TikTok started a ‘1,000 pints in a year’ drinking challenge. That equates to just 2.7 pints/day. Jon May caught wind of that beer drinking challenge and was like ‘I can absolutely crush those numbers’ so he created the 2,000 pints in 200 days challenge.

It all started with this video:

May has racked up over 13,000 followers on Instagram as well along the way (@j0nmay).

UPDATE: FINAL DAY IS UPON US.

Now, it is worth mentioning that in the USA the definition of ‘binge drinking’ is ‘consuming 5 or more drinks on occasion’ for men. The CDC also recommends drinking in moderation which is defined as 2 drinks or less in a day for men.
