A 68-year-old woman was arrested by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week. Authorities claim she was drinking prior to getting behind the wheel.
Later, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office shared a video purported to be the woman doing donuts on the courthouse lawn, tearing up the grass, while driving erratically and endangering the safety of the public. They shared the video as a warning to others to think twice before having “a few too many margaritas with dinner.”

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office blasted footage of the incident out to the world on their Facebook page and the video has since made its way to X and YouTube. Their full message to the public on Facebook was “A Friendly Reminder: If you’ve had a few too many margaritas with dinner, please don’t get behind the wheel, and definitely don’t do donuts on the courthouse lawn. Yesterday afternoon, a 67-year-old woman was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, along with numerous other charges, following an incident at the courthouse. We encourage everyone to enjoy themselves responsibly and always make arrangements for a safe ride home if you’ve been drinking.”
In the state of Indiana, a measured BAC of 0.08% to 0.14% (without endangerment) is punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a fine up to $500 as a Class C Misdemeanor. A measured BAC of 0.15% or higher carries up to 1 year in jail and a fine up to $5,000 and is a Class A Misdemeanor in the state.
