Inject Brad Pitt Chasing Down Tommy Lee Jones In Space With Space Guns INTO MY VEINS

I have an old saying that I like to toss around every now and again: there are but two types of people in this world: those who enjoy space movies and those who are neanderthals.

Well, no, I don’t actually say that, but I do have a hard time understanding how people could possibly not enjoy a good space movie. I mean, just look at the murderer’s row of cosmic bangers that have come out in our lifetimes.

Apollo 13, Life, Sunshine, Interstellar, Armageddon, The Martian, Total Recall, The Fifth Element, Moon, Galaxy Quest, Contact, Prometheus, Gravity. Fuck it, Star Wars! Star Trek! Guardians of the Galaxy! Seriously — dead ass B — there are few genres with as consistent of a track record as outer space movies.

SO, when you take the tried and true formula of outer space and add Brad Pitt’s handsome ass into the mix, I’m in. Then you add in the fact that he’s chasing his rogue father, Tommy Lee Jones, around the galaxy, and I’m even MORE in. Toss in the fact that ole Space Brad seems to be wielding some sort of space pistol and falling off space stations into the vast abyss of the cosmos and I am all the way the fuck in. Can you tell I’m hyped on this movie?

And I haven’t even mentioned that it’s being helmed by James Gray, who — although not necessarily well known by the masses — is a hell of a director (his last feature, The Lost City of Z, while long, is absolutely stunning).

In addition to Pitt — who is coming off what will be an Academy Award-nominated performance in Once Upon A Time In HollywoodAd Astra also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland.

Ad Astra is set to be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, September 20, 2019.
