If you’re looking for a rabbit hole to head down today, then have we got just the thing: an RC airplane aerial demolition derby.

“Combat is one of the main and most anticipated events at Flite Fest, the huge annual RC airplane event in Ohio,” YouTuber RCwithAdam writes. “This is when 100+ RC airplanes are flown at the same time, with the hope of smashing into each other epically!”

After watching the video of the aerial demolition derby at Flite Fest 2023, it’s easy to see why it is one of most anticipated events.

This year’s event took place in Malvern, Ohio and featured numerous flying opportunities, camping, and a food fair.

It’s open to all skill levels, so pretty much anyone can fly a RC airplane there (after you sign a waiver, of course).

The Combat portion of the event, which is voluntary, is like Battlebots on steroids, if Battlebots was conducted in the sky and there were dozens of combatants going all at the same time.

“Bring your sacrificial offerings to the line of fire!” the Flite Fest 2023 website reads.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool to watch.

The new record-holder for longest RC plane ever to fly was even entered into the demolition derby took one heck of a beating.

As it turns out, this is something they do every year at Flite Fest.

Here are some highlights from a couple previous events.

Like I said, if you’re looking for a wormhole to go down, there are tons of these videos on YouTube that will kill the rest of your day pretty easily.
