Amanda Seyfried says she’s done with sex scenes. According to the actress, she recently passed on a TV series because it would have required frequent intimate scenes
While speaking at the Hamptons International Film Festival, in a conversation moderated by Alec Baldwin, Academy Award-nominated actress Amanda Seyfried said that she recently passed on a TV series because it would have required filming multiple nudity scenes. Seyfried did not name the specific show, however.

“Doesn’t matter [who it’s with] … I don’t wanna do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now,” Seyfried said. “Maybe if [the project] came along again [at a later point], maybe I’d be in a different space. But I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger.”
“[Being an actor] gets weirder [with age]. We have to be romantic with people that we’re not romantic with. Sometimes it’s great. Sometimes it’s really uncomfortable. But I can’t believe back in the day I was just like, ‘We gotta make out. Great! This is awesome. I know how to make out’ And it used to be so fun. It was a non-thing. It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me.’”
Seyfried also noted the growth of her nine-year-old daughter on having an influence on the roles she accepts.
Seyfried is coming off one of the most successful years of her career, as 2025 saw her receive universal critical acclaim for her performance in The Testament of Ann Lee, star in one of the biggest hits of her career in The Housemaid, and lead the Peacock series Lone Bright River.
This year, Seyfried will be starring in The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd and voicing Cinderella in the animated film Steps. She’s also set to star in Lin Manuel-Miranda’s upcoming film Octet and a sequel to her 2009 cult classic Jennifer’s Body alongside Megan Fox. It’s safe to assume that none of them will include any birthday suit scenes.
