Ben Affleck stars in and directs the upcoming Netflix movie 'Animals'
The first trailer for Ben Affleck’s Animals has been released. In addition to starring in the film, Affleck also directed it.
Ben Affleck has previously directed the films Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Argo — which won Best Picture at the Academy Awards — Live By Night, and Air. Artists Equity, the production company that Affleck founded alongside longtime collaborator and best friend Matt Damon back in 2022, also produced Animals.

His latest film Animals will be released in select theaters before hitting Netflix on October 9. Affleck stars in the film as Milo Bradford, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped.

In addition to Affleck in the lead role, Animals also stars Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher, Christopher Woodley, Matt Gerald, Jacob Estrada, Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Steven Yeun.
Earlier this year, Artists Equity signed a first-look contract with Netflix, making Animals the first film the two companies have released together following the deal. The two also collaborated on the Joe Carnahan-directed action thriller The Rip, which was released on Netflix earlier this year and proved to be a huge hit for the streamer with Affleck and Damon in the lead roles.
